Cranston’s death

Report from physician who attended him at time of his death. Physician described cause of death as cerebral hemorrhage produced by prolonged vomiting from an attack of gastritis. The physician stated that he had been treating Cranston since 1894 for attacks of gastralgia, due to chronic gastritis at various intervals. The attacks varied in frequency from a few days to six months. The physician stated that he was a relative of Cranston’s and therefore there was no charge for service and no records. In his opinion, Cranston contracted chronic gastritis while in the army and his death was due underneath to that disease.
