The Battle of Peach Tree Creek took place in Georgia on July 20, 1864. The plan was for the retreating Confederate army to aggressively attack the Union at Peach Tree Creek. The plan failed causing the Confederacy to suffer many casualties. Unfortunately, William Cranston also suffered a debilitating injury during this battle. He received a right groin injury due to falling on a rock which later led to inguinal hernia.
