Career

Captain Cranston owned and worked as a farmer until in Urbana, Ohio until 1877. The physical demands of farmer were too much for his body after the war, so  he moved his family to Gainesville, Texas to try their hand at cattle ranching.

In 1887, Mr. Cranston and his family sold their ranch and moved to Parson, Kansas.  It was in Parson that William and Jennie lived out the rest of their lives.
